Health Benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong

Health Benefits of Qigong and Tai Chi

10 ways Qigong and Tai Chi improve your health and well-being: some well-known, some quite unexpected.

4 Qigong ‘Flavours’

Each Qigong session is founded on the same principle: regulating the body, the breath and the mind – 3 aspects of one being. Each session also has its own focus.

Ba Duan Jin

8 Silk Brocades

Probably the best known of all Qigong sets and one of the most ancient. Perfect combination of movements with a meditative focus. If you are looking to reduce stress this is your class.

Tuesdays, 9:30 am

Seated Qigong

Using a dedicated set of Qigong moves designed to work with a seated position to improve neck, shoulder and spine mobility and calm the mind. It’s accessible to those with mobility restrictions but valuable for all.

Wednesdays, 9 am

Shibashi

Tai Chi Qi Gong

Shibashi sets consist of 18 Qigong exercises that challenge balance, strength and coordination and is the most dynamic of the ‘flavours’ here. We take one set at a time, breaking down each exercise to master it, then build the full routine. Energising.

Thursdays, 9:30 am

Qigong Mix

A pick ‘n’ mix from a wide range of Qigong ‘sets’ – different groups of Qigong exercises including 5 Elements, 5 Animal Frolics, 12 Meridians and more. A great way to get a flavour for the amazing variety of Qigong.

Thursdays, 6:30 pm

Qigong with Music

Using sequences of Qigong moves flowing together with music to improve the flow of Qi through the body and mind.

Thursdays, 6 pm, Fridays 9:30 am
